They are okay but I thought they had the smokey stem from the picture. But they don’t have the smokey stem

    You want the Burgundy, 14-Ounce

This is the general purpose, red wine glass size that your favorite restaurants use!

    Great quality as expected

The Schott Zwiesel Tritan champagne glasses were a replacment for one I broke of a friends. The substitution of titanium for lead in the crystal, improving the strength was one of the selling points. The shape, size, price and quality of finish were the other selling points. Thus far my friend is delighted and I’m free of guilt for breaking one of his 20+ year old flutes ;-)!

    Wonderfully sturdy but not elegant

Clearly very robust and a good value for the money. We bought them to replace some other dishwasher safe wine glasses that were closer to our not-everyday Riedels; the previous ones had a little more delicate stem and a more graceful bowl. That said, everything is a tradeoff. We started with six of the other ones and over a few years ended up with two. Perhaps these Schotts would have not broken (well, maybe not two of the times – it wouldn’t have been reasonable to expect any wine glass to remain intact after getting knocked off a counter onto a tile floor.) Anyway, for everyday glasses to go into the dishwasher, these are a good choice.

    Wonderful glasses huge upgrade

We decided to upgrade an older set of wine glasses, which by now was missing a glass, etc. I have other Schott glassware and this was my first choice. I love these glasses. Strong, stylish, and exactly what I needed.

Hard to believe they can survive!

BOY O BOY!It’s really rare to find an item that is exactly as advertised, and when one comes along, it’s such a happy surprise! There was a video that showed some of the knocks these crystal glass stemware pieces could take, and frankly it was unbelievable. But I ordered these anyway. It turns out, the ones we got have tipped over and hit our gas stove iron grates, rolled into our porcelain sink, and have laid over on our granite counters. We are not klutzes or a band of rodeo clowns. We have a family of teenagers who do their share of the “chores” including clearing the table and cleaning the kitchen. These have been used for everything from water glasses to “emergency” milk glasses, to the occasional treat of a glass of wine with dinner for my husband and myself, but the glasses get used……… daily. They take the knocks that were advertised on the video. All the glasses have survived so far (which is a record in our house), and there are no chips, scratches, and remarkably no breakage.I’m not saying run out and bounce these all over the kitchen, but as they do tip over, they stunningly seem to survive.

    Beautiful, but extremely fragile

I purchased two sets of six champagne flutes for a New Year’s Eve get together, for a total of twelve. Before getting to use them the first time, I am already down to nine. I know that glass is fragile, but the fragility of these glasses gives a new definition to the term. One was cracked right out of the box. I gently started placing the rest into warm soapy water (to wash them before the first use). The first two I placed in the water rolled a couple of inches toward each other, and the rims lightly clinked against one another. Both ended up with cracks matching the one that came cracked. I believe in taking care of my things well, and I did not handle these at all roughly. I find it incredible that 25% of them cracked before I even used them. These glasses are very beautiful, but before buying them, please keep in mind that they are extremely fragile. I expect that my (now incomplete) set will serve me with one or two uses before all are broken. At over $8 a glass, I think they should last longer.

All-purpose white wine glass has too-small bowl

If the bowl of the all-purpose white wine glass were twice the size, I’d rate it a 5 star wine glass. These are sturdy and attractive glasses. Unfortunately, the bowl is simply too small to be considered “all-purpose” for white wines. A proper pour of wine is 5 oz. and should not fill the bowl even half-way. Yet these seem to hold perhaps half that when filled within a half inch of the brim. My champaign flutes have twice the bowl capacity of these glasses.Ignoring the fact that some white wines do have a nice nose which cannot be experienced properly if the bowl is over half-full, a glass which is filled nearly to the brim by a couple of jiggers of wine is inconvenient at table, requiring frequent refilling which interrupts the dining experience. As I said, the Tristan stemware is very nice. So nice that I will be looking to buy more, just not the “all-purpose” size which seems to mean cheap and you get what you pay for. I’ll be buying the Schott Zwiesel glasses from a local store where I can see what I’m getting.

    Beautiful But Fatally Flawed

At first glance it’s a beautiful glass. At first I was a little surprised to feel a soft seam in the stem, but it was soft and so acceptable. Then I washed them by hand since they were full of dust and fibers. When held to the light it became obvious they were flawed. Some had tiny bubbles and half had inclusions or impurities in the glass itself. One flute had bubbles where the stem meets the bowl and one had actually popped. That flute would certainly break one day. I expected more at this price, not the moon, but not bubbles, internal scratches, or impurities. I do wonder if those who reported that one broke with hand washing had a glass with the same issues.I should also add that my purchase was Amazon Used Like New. I suppose it’s possible that something underhanded may have happened with the last return. Just be sure to closely examine your glasses before washing to see if there might be weak points. I returned them.

Unexpected Ridge In Stem of Otherwise Fine Wine Glass

I was surprised to find a fairly noticeable ridge along the stem, the result of manufacturing the stems using a mold instead of a higher quality process. I would expect to find a mold ridge in a dollar store wine glass, not something in this price range. At first, I questioned whether an unscrupulous buyer might have substituted lower quality glasses and then returned them, since I purchased this set used on Amazon at a greatly reduced price. But then I looked at them in a retail store, and those were no different. But since these glasses were otherwise decent enough at the price, I decided to keep them. You should, too, unless these kinds of things bother you.

    Great Crystal Glasses

So far I’ve only broken one, so that’s pretty good, and I’ve had them a while. These greatly enhance a glass of red wine. They are delicate, yet tough. I put them in the dish washer all the time and have never had one break in there. The only issue I can think of is they are to tall for most cabinets, so I have to keep mine in the pantry. I plan on getting one of the wine bottle racks, with the glass hanger on the bottoms one of these days so that will fix that.

We have been very happy with these glasses

We have been very happy with these glasses. They are elegant, stylish stemware but they seem to be much stronger and they really are more durable than regular wine glasses. We will buy these again. We originally ordered a size that was too small, We returned them and the return was handled efficiently. The replacements glasses, which were a larger size, were perfect. Update: We just bought another box. Very pleased.

    Lovely, multipurpose

We purchased the “All purpose/beer” style. We are so thrilled with them. They seem nicer in person than they seemed in the picture. They have a delicate, fine quality to them. They are well balanced in the hand, and add beauty to the drink. We use them for beer, when we want a nicer presentation for a nicer beer, and we also use them for tall drinks like gin and tonic. But my favorite use for them is with Sangria. The fresh fruit and ice and red wine are so pretty in these glasses. Since they are slender, the fruit is readily visible through the wine. They really add sparkle to the drink.

    Great glasses

These are great glasses, because they have room to hold the aroma of wine and because they have excellent balance. They look top heavy but they are not. Just put in 4 to 6 ounces, don’t over do it.

    beautiful glasses

I have several sizes of Schott Zwiesel Tritan crystal stemware and am very happy with all of it. Not also is it beautiful, but I can put it in the dishwasher and have not had any chips or breakage.

7 1/2 oz General Purpose Wine Glass… Come on man!

Come on man! How can a 7 1/2 oz glass be considered general purpose? Properly filled these would hold 3 oz. Shame on me for not reading the description more closely. These are shot glasses on a stem… Maybe a dessert wine glass…. NOT general purpose by a long shot. Returned and took the hit on shipping cost…

NOT Schott Zweisel, these are D&V

The glasses I received are etched D&V. I ordered them to add to the Schott Z. Glasses I already have, for Thanksgiving, but now I have this cheap set instead! So angry. Do not buy these! They are not what is listed.

Great quality, and price. The bowls and over all height were bigger than I expected.

Broke 3 out of 6 on the first night we used them.

I’ve had Schott Zwiesel Tritan Crystal Glass Stemware before and it’s lasted decades. However, this particular model is extremely fragile. No I absolutely do not recommend.

    Beautiful and elegant

These glasses are stunning. They have a beautiful design, very elegant and well balanced in hand. They are definitely more costly then basic wine glasses, but if you’re a serious Wine Drinker and you like to entertain these are the glasses for you.

The glass is amazing! The tone of the crystal is very beautiful, and the shape is excellent! It is a wonderful experience to drink fine wine using this glass.

Disapointed..was told they would be thin glass..these were thick and chunky..

    Not unbreakable.😠

I love(d) these glasses so much that I gift them to friends because I “thought” they made the best gifts…. until last night.Contrary to their claim, these glasses ARE breakable. We were proudly going to show off their best feature to our friends by clinking two together to demonstrate how amazing these glasses are, when one of them shattered.I immediately looked to see if I had accidentally grabbed a Reidel out of the cabinet, but NOPE, it was two Schott Zwiesels. Sooo disappointing. And of course, our return date has passed.Such a bummer.

    Beautiful glasses, right size

We ordered these because it is difficult to find smaller sized wine glasses. The quality is excellent. They are dishwasher safe and although they look delicate, they are quite sturdy and chip resistant.

  33. 5.0 out of 5 stars

    Good every day wine glasses

Nice small wine glasses. Clear crystal. They are as breakable as all crystal glasses, so don’t buy them for that reason. However, they are just as nice as the Reidel equivalent at a better price.

  34. 1.0 out of 5 stars

This item is NOT Schott Zwiesel brand 🙁

I ordered this item and received “Design Value” brand wine glasses of a much lower quality, and not matching my current collection of Schott Zwiesel (which has the brand name etched right on the foot of the glass). I returned them and explained the error. The second order was again “Design Value” brand. Not worth the time and hassle of repacking and dropping off two returns!

    Schott Zwiesel made in Romania

Now they are shipping “Schott Zwiesel” branded products. However, they are “handmade in Romania” instead of Germany. Although I don’t think the country of origin makes a big difference, the advertisement on amazon is misleading as the product information clearly indicates that it is “made in Germany”.

    Absolutely not break-resistant

These are great looking glasses, but unlike what Schott Zwiesel claims about their Tritan line of stemware, they are not break-resistant. I had a glass shatter completely from a 2-foot fall. Other reviewers have also pointed out that these are fragile, delicate glasses – they’re totally right. If you don’t want to shell out for a replacement set to cover inevitable breakages, stay away from these glasses. They are beautiful and well made, but very fragile.

Not unbreakable. Broke one on a tile floor.

These are not unbreakable. I broke one on a tile floor. I thought that’s what I paid a lot of money for. I guess I should have just bought cheap ones, because they break just the same after a fall.

  39. 5.0 out of 5 stars

    The best!

I originally picked these up on clearance at Macy’s, where retail was $17.50 each. Everything about these is good. They have a great wide body to allow any red to breath well. They are light & elegant. Happy enough with the first four that I bought six more and will buy more for gifts. These are perfect for those who love their reds. They are listed as a Burgundy Glass, but I am primarily a Zindfandel drinker who moonlights with Cabs.

    High quality stems

Perfect for the intended use. These are lovely white wines. I bought these to replace our everyday wines and I wanted something smaller because our old ones are gigantic and encourage too much consumption! But these are true white wines and they are a bit small for everyday. That was my fault – somehow I imagined them a little larger. I will use them as they were intended and probably get some reds for everyday.

    Not the best.

I was trying to replace some Schott Zwiesel white wine glasses I had, but had broken a few. Although they looked the same. These are very narrow. Small. More like tasting glasses. Not that I want a big white glass, but you can’t even get your nose in them. Would not purchase these again. One was broken in the six pack I received.

  42. 5.0 out of 5 stars

Beautiful, elegant and on the largish size, these are really great flutes

The proportions, and size of these are both excellent

  43. 5.0 out of 5 stars

They are perfect water glasses for an elegant dinner.

Still have all twelve of the two boxes I bought three years ago and many uses. They are perfect water glasses for an elegant dinner. NOTE: For beer, if you are pouring out of a standard 12 oz beer bottle, these don’t work so well – at 12 1/2 oz they are a bit small to hold the whole bottle with the head.

  44. 5.0 out of 5 stars

    I love these glasses

I was losing stemware at an alarming rate. Either I knocked it over, or it was broken in the sink or the dishwasher. I decided enough was enough and bought these. Love them. They are durable enough for everyday use, and beautiful enough for a party.

    Classic Barware

I have ordered a complete barset from Schott Zwiesel and could not be more pleased. The Classico and Paris collections offer substantial based-glasses (a must-have for any bar set), simple elegance, and a beautiful appearance throughout. My barset is complete with red wine, white wine, champagne flute, whiskey/rocks/old fashioned, collins, and martini glasses.Pros:- stunning elegance- classic design- substantial construction- good drinking weightCons:(none)
