I bought these as a gift for my girlfriend’s father. After receiving the package I had to check that they were perfectly intact, as Amazon doesn’t bubble wrap anything from the warehouse these days. Ashcroft does a spectacular job of packaging their products (I also bought the Everest set for her brother, which I’m not going to review even though I do absolutely love it), they are double boxed and tightly surrounded with thick spongy foam. The glasses are beautiful to look at and easy to firmly hold. The set for me doesn’t hold the old school traditional stuffiness of other decanter sets available, but it does purvey the feel of a modern newly minted classic.
I love the Twist Whiskey Decanter Set. Quality is impeccable. Glasses are beautiful and well made. Nice thick glass that feels good in your hand.The box is absolutely beautiful, however the foam keeping the glass in place was not well designed. The cap had come loose during shipment and bounced around hitting the other glasses chipping one of them. Its a testament as to how well made these glasses are made that it was only a tiny chip.Customer service had contacted me to see if I liked the set and I told them about this. They said that they had heard this and already corrected the packaging for future shipments. To their credit, rather than just returning the set for an exchange, they had two new glasses sent to me for no charge. I had them the next day. This is a company that stands behind their products. Will be looking at Ashcroft first the next time I am purchasing glassware. I look forward to seeing new products as they are released.
I bought this as a present for my daughter. She loved the modern style, and that it is glass and not crystal, which can contain lead.We called it a stocking stuffer, because the price was so good. Very well packaged in a giftable box. The glass is thick and beautiful and easy to hold. Guests like sipping out of them.
I love this set. The glass is of superb quality and feels solid and heavy. The design is excellent. I’ve purchased a rectangular set of whiskey glasses before, and while they look beautiful, they are uncomfortable to drink out of as you’re forced to drink out of the corners. Not a problem with these. The funky swirl shape is easy to hold in the hands and easy to sip out of. Attaching some pics!I came across Ashcroft completely by accident, but have been nothing but impressed so far. From the beautiful packaging to the products itself, this is a superb company, and I’ll be getting a few other things soon.
I ordered this Whiskey decanter set with the spiral design. It came very quickly and on time. Packaging was perfect, and the foam held the decanter and 4 glasses perfectly. The set is beautiful, the glasses a bit larger than I expect, but looks perfect for a whiskey ball! For the price, honestly it can’t be beat. I even kept the box for general storage because it’s got a magnetic latch and is very high quality. 5 stars no doubt!
The Whiskey Decanter and glasses are nothing short of awesome! The packaging was sturdy and secure. No damage on arrival. The decanter and glasses look great! They remind me of a tornado. The bases of the glass are slightly twisted and it looks noble. I’d say down right manly looking. The glass looks just about as good as lead crystal, but you don’t have to worry about the lead poisening. The decanter is good weight and feels good in my hand. It doesn’t feel nor does it look cheap. If I had to find a negative, I’d say it was maybe slightly pricey. Even so, I’d buy another in a heart beat. I don’t think any man would be disappointed in this. I give it my full endorsement (for what that is worth).
Very nice decanter set. Good price for very heafty glassware. First set arrived with a glass that had basically exploded and ruined the packaging, but the company followed up to make sure everything was alright and I got a replacement from Amazon very quickly. I would suggest opening the packaging very carefully if you hear broken glass however. The glasses in the set tend to fragment into very tiny shards and splinters which were very hard to clean up. Very happy with the set and I’m sure my dad will be too once he receives it as a gift.
I absolutely love this set!! They are beautiful, functional and did I say beautiful!!Shipping – The decanter and classes were packed firmly in foam, that was in a box, that was in a sleeve… that is the Aschcroft packaging. Then that was wrapped in bubble wrap and place in a box, tightly. Everything arrived perfect!!! The Ashcroft packaging was great by itself!!The set:The glass is flawless and “crystal” clear. The twists highlight the color of the bourbon wonderfully. The decanter and its top are ground glass on glass, no plastic. The decanter and glasses are very study with matching twists. The decanter holds a full 1/5th of burbon. The glasses work well with ice balls or whisky cubes. (I like the stainless cubes as they drop the bourbon temp better than the soapstone and does not dilute the bourbon.)I plan on enjoying these for a long time to come. I see these as possible heirloom quality, lasting in my family a very long time. I am planning on getting another decanter or set in the future for tequilia.
I bought this product with a healthy skepticism based off of some of the reviews I’d read. I saw that it was on sale from its normal price so I figured I’d give it a shot and I must say it was a great decision. The product arrived in less than one day from order which was nice. My initial concern was that the packaging would lend itself to chips and potential breaks (an issue brought up in quite a few other posts) I was very pleased to see the packaging was sturdy, secure and no breaks or chips existed! The packaging complaints from previous orders seem to have been addressed as each item was snug and secure and actually required a bit of effort to remove from it’s pre-molded positions.The glass itself was beautifully clean, and clear with no noticeable deformations outside of the intended curvatures. This brings me to my one word of caution for prospective buyers… these glasses are quite large in the hand. I’m a 6’4 guy who can palm a basketball so they fit nearly perfectly in my hands but I could see them being a touch unwieldy for someone with smaller hands. With that said I absolutely love the feel and the aesthetic of each glass as well as the decanter itself. Perhaps my favorite thing is that they are hefty! You absolutely can feel the weight of each individual piece and at least in the early going this leads me to believe they won’t be prone to easy chips.All in all I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone looking to purchase a nice whiskey drinking set. Hoping for many years of enjoyment out of this fine product. Hope this helps anyone looking to make a purchase!
Great set! I am happy with the product it exceeded my expectations. However the packaging was destroyed. I’m pretty certain this gift set had been purchased before and returned. The outer sleeve was torn on all four corner and the inner box, which is very nice, was crumpled in two corners. The glassware was unaffected and completely intact. I emailed the company and was told there was nothing they could do. Very disappointing as this is a gift and it will make a very poor presentation.
